After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, a rather unusual allegation involving Prince Philip came to light.
Prince Philip became fascinated with extraterrestrials after a bricklayer reported an encounter with them at the home of Philip’s late uncle Sir Louis Mountbatten, but so far there have been no UFO sightings in Britain. His investigative work on the matter remained confidential.
Philip, who died in April 2021 aged 99, is credited with creating the so-called Royal X-Files in space and extraterrestrial life.
And the royal family is now facing calls to make the investigation public, reports The Daily Star . The work remained secret during the queen’s reign.
Alien fans have urged ministers to publicize the late Duke of Edinburgh’s findings after his wife died on September 8 at the age of 96.
Prince Philip’s Interest in Extraterrestrials
Nick Pope, a former Defense Ministry official who was in charge of the British government’s UFO unit from 1991 to 1994, said that Philip and Sir Peter Horsley – his former RAF employee – were investigating alien sightings.
He also claimed that Philip’s interest in the matter had been deliberately kept secret during the latter part of the monarch’s reign.
Nick told History TV: “Very sensitive. Here the queen’s husband is investigating a UFO. If the news had spread, it would have been controversial.”
Sir Mountbatten ‘spoke extensively with Philip’ about the UFO sighting at his Broadlands estate in Hampshire .
Did Queen Elizabeth know?
Lord Mountbatten and Prince Philip, who were assassinated in August 1979, are said to have “discussed at length the possibility of extraterrestrial life”. And UFO expert Richard Dolan is certain that the late monarch knew about Philip’s conversation with his uncle.
“We have to assume that Queen Elizabeth knew about this ,” he said.
