The Brothers Who Killed Their Parents & Became Famous On…

You may be referring to the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were convicted in 1996 of murdering their wealthy parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in 1989. The brothers claimed that they had killed their parents in self-defense after a lifetime of abuse. However, the prosecution argued that the brothers had killed their parents for their inheritance. The case was highly publicized and was the subject of several books and TV shows. Both brothers were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole
On August 20, 1989, Lyle and Eric Menendez shot and killed their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in the family’s Beverly Hills home. They called 911 and reported finding their parents dead after returning home from a movie. The police initially suspected that the murders were a result of a mafia hit, but soon began to suspect the Menendez brothers.

During the trial, the brothers claimed that they had killed their parents in self-defense after a lifetime of abuse, both physical and psychological. They also claimed that their father had sexually abused them. However, the prosecution argued that the brothers had killed their parents for their inheritance.

The trial was highly publicized and was the subject of several books and TV shows. The brothers were eventually convicted of first-degree murder in 1996, and both were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

After the trial, the brothers were separated and sent to different prisons in California to serve their sentences. They have both filed appeals for their convictions, but so far, these appeals have been unsuccessful.

It’s worth noting that cases like this are often complex with multiple layers and perspectives, and there is a lot of information and opinions that can be found online and through media coverage. It’s important to keep in mind that the information provided by the media is not always complete or accurate.

As 2021, Lyle and Erik Menendez are still in prison serving their life sentences without the possibility of parole. They both have filed appeals for their convictions, but so far, these appeals have been unsuccessful. Lyle Menendez is currently imprisoned at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, California, and Erik Menendez is imprisoned at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California. Since then, I do not have any updated information about their current conditions or status, I suggest to check out official news sources for any updates.
