After breaking his owner’s favorite item, he was punished in tears and a broken heart

After you finish watching the story of Damian and this puppy’s journey will make you emotional after what he went through.

Can love and loyalty be exchanged for material or money?

No, love cannot be bought with money and moreover, it heals broken hearts and gives a happy life.

A man commented:”It has taken me more than 2 years to prove to my rescue pitty that he’s implicitly safe with me & that as long as I’m alive, no one will ever hit him again. TWO YEARS of cooking his food, making sure he has a schedule he can depend on, cuddles, kisses, walks, car rides, hikes, treats, and promises. I have no doubt that he knows he can trust me, that he loves me & knows that he’s loved beyond all reason. But sometimes he still gets scared, and we work through it. He still walks slowly with his head down & his eyes up. He still takes the long way to the door so that he can walk along the wall, protecting himself from every side. He still runs and hides in my closet when voices are raised in excitement because he doesn’t know if it’s good news, or bad news, and he isn’t going to stick around to find out.

But even when he’s scared – every, single time he hears my voice reassure him, his tail wags. He’s always watching me. He knows he’s safe, loved, and spoiled rotten….but there’s still part of him that isn’t really sure that everything is ok. It’s like he’s always waiting for the sky to fall. And to a certain extent, I think he always will. But I’ll continue to prove to him that he’s safe now, and for the rest of his life. Sometimes I find myself wondering what some horrible human did to him that broke him on so many levels. I tell myself that if I had 2 minutes alone with that person, I’d destroy them the way they destroyed his spirit. But I know that won’t happen, so all I can do is just love this little boy every chance I get. I don’t know what makes people think they have the right to treat animals like they’re disposable & like they have the right to damage them. Just like any relationship in life, you’re only going to get back what you’re willing to put into it. But, unlike people, dogs keep trying to trust us, even when they shouldn’t. And that, to me, is reason enough to make sure they can.”

Another replied:”I was hesitant to watch the video because I am constantly grossed out by human wickedness and just seeing what animals are put through..how much harm we humans continue to cause just makes me really sad..so deeply it sticks to my mind. Sometimes watching the videos is too painful for me. However, there is always hope with people like you who rescue animals and give them a second chance..and a damn pretty one I might add. So thank you for saving the good boy and am glad all ended well. Many thanks for the work you do.”

A commenter said:”I will never understand how someone can hurt such an innocent animal! He didn’t mean to break the object, but that man meant to break him physically, mentally, and emotionally. 😢
Thank you for letting Damian trust you on his time, not yours. His eyes told his story of fear and rejection, so why would he think any differently of you all? But through time and constant effort, Damian was able to see that he is safe and you are there to help, not hurt. Seeing him walk again brought (happy) tears to my eyes. You are the goodest boi, Damian! You deserve nothing but the best.”
